The team told the meeting it was "looking at what protected services have to be delivered locally both for the safety of the public and because there are no other alternative providers". Seven wards out of nine at the hospital are empty, but the trust said it was "working with commissioners to find appropriate uses for those areas.

A consultation with workers about the plans had finished and a final decision would be made soon, the trust russixn. It said it was working with other hospitals in the West Midlands region to see how services could be delivered.
What those services would look like I don't know. The NHS regulator, Monitor, has commissioned an independent review of all the trust's services, the owmen which it said would be published by next spring.
